Join Us!

Over the last several months Traveling Postcards has been collecting postcards to bring to the newly built City of Joy in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We have had the good fortune to meet Eve Ensler and her wonderful team at V-DAY. Her effort to bring healing and dignity back to the women and girls of the DRC is extraordinary.

"The City of Joy will act as a refuge for healed women survivors of rape and torture who have been left without family and community. It will provide educational and income-generating opportunities, and support women in becoming the next leaders of the DRC.” Eve Ensler

Join me in building a collection of cards for the resilient women and girls being served in this community. Traveling Postcards will inspire them to heal and feel connected to the global community of women who care for them. This is your opportunity to share your wisdom and help to make a difference in someone
else's life.

Traveling Postcards will be in Emeryville, CA this Saturday, April 24th. We have teamed up with a wonderful photograp
hic non profit called FOTOVISION . Come out and support our efforts, enjoy your creativity, eat and drink and listen to some wonderful Congolese music!

Traveling Postcards in my Mailbox!

I feel so appreciative of the Traveling Postcards that are arriving! Each time I am surprised and excited to see that distinctive envelope in my mailbox. I can tell that I have received a Traveling Postcard because the envelopes are always addressed by hand and their color and shape stand out amongst the impersonal flyers and mass produced bills. They carry their essence with them.
Every card is a beautiful piece of art. They are covered with colors, ribbon, threads, and words. They are filled with compassion and small gestures of hope and caring. Each one is unique and every one is worthwhile.

The new arrivals are almost too much for me as every card seems to come with a handwritten message thanking me for the opportunity to serve other women. I am so grateful for your support.

I think that is what Traveling Postcards can provide...a small way to reach out from our hearts and tell each other that we know and that we care. Small gestures lead to big changes. Let’s keep those cards coming and soon we will have enough cards to send to the Congo and then enough to gather and display to show the entire world what we look like and what wisdom we carry!
Two new events coming up! Campbell April 15th , Berkeley April 24th! Look to www.travelingpostcards for details.
